Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary is celebrated on October 31st every year. This day is observed as "National Unity Day" in India, also known as "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas," to commemorate his birthday. Sardar Patel was a prominent leader in the Indian independence movement and played a key role in the integration of princely states into a unified India after gaining independence in 1947.
His efforts to unite the various regions and princely states earned him the title of "The Iron Man of India. On National Unity Day, various events and activities are organized across India to remember and honor his contributions to the country. On this prime occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the day of his birth anniversary, October 31, which is observed as National Unity Day.
Many political leaders, involving Congress leaders too, presented their honor to Vallabh Bhai on his day. Congress Chief Mallikaarjun Kharge wrote this on Ex, "Tributes to the man who united the entire country, the iron man of India, the country’s first deputy prime minister, former Congress president, and our source of inspiration, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji, on his birth anniversary."
Mr.Rahul Gandhi mentioned in his post," The inspiration to unite India and unite the entire country comes from Sardar Patel only." Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, in a post on X, said, A grateful nation celebrates the 148th birth anniversary of the one and only Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel."
BJP Prominent Leader Modi and Prime Minister of India wrote, “The people coming to Ekta Nagar not only get to see this grand statue but also get a glimpse of Sardar Saheb’s life, sacrifice, and his contribution in building one India. The story of the construction of this statue itself reflects the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat‘ (one India, great India).”
At a special function held at the capital’s Patel Chowk, the President, Dhankhar, and others paid their tributes at the statue of India’s first home minister.
